Darren Morfitt
Darren Morfitt is the one of most talented and promising EDM producers from Poland who despite his young age is producing music for almost ten years, well known from his unique festival sound and highly energetic live sets. In the age where the only thing you need to produce is a laptop with software he tries to dig a little bit deeper in search for something fresh and innovatice instead of mass copy/paste of what’s popular at the moment. It worked out for him quickly gaining trust and confidence o the biggest in the business whom seemed to be stuned by his production quality. For the most part of his DJ carrer he had been spinning on many venues on his home city Wrocław and other Polish cities, with just a few international apperances. It’s worth of mention that he is a rare example of artists true to his fans, showing that without them he wouldn’t reach anywhere in the music industry. Darren Morfitt is also a host of quite popular ‘Dancefloor Orgy’ radioshow and ‘Diversify Yourself Podcast’.
Darren was one of the first true pioneers of big room music (not forgetting his high BPM trance roots) in Poland releasing a long time before it’s commercial burst in 2012. Debuted with a remix for Canadian techno hero Brent Sadowick after being discovered by DJ Ampz – well recognised Canadian DJ and owner of legendary tech-trance label Amplified Digital. He has more then thirty relases and one artist album under his belt but the cruccial moment came when he was discovered by popular dutch DJ/producer duo W&W whom presented his music to the larger audience (naming him a rare producer that just keeps getting better and better’) via their radioshow and live sets, which ended in getting record deal on their Mainstage Music imprint in 2012. ‘Don’t Mess With Us’ became huge commercial sucess breaking in to many DJ playlists and charts, finally ending in the TOP5 of very popular Polish FM radio. What followed was a string of very sucessful relases on labels like Tech Maniac Records owned by crazy swede Stana or well known DJ ReOrder’s imprint Silent Shore. There were also first official collaborations with marvelous Trance producer from Lithuania – Anske on oldschool ‘Tech Pistolz’ and wonder boy from Mexico Robert Firth on electro monster ‘Checkpoint’. In the end of 2013 another turning point took place after Darren had joined roster of Eclipse Managament wich opened for him gig opportunities all over the globe, so you can expect seeing him banging some serious records in some place near you.
Darren spent fairly quiet with his relases year 2013 in the studio working on the follow up for the ‘It Could Have Gone That Way’ album, bunch of new tracks (including few vocals) for high profile labels and developing his new alias – Harry Harvey – focused on dubstep and trap music. There is alot of big things in front of the young guy in 2014, and you can be assured that he will suprise you more then once in the future.
